Four decades of history<\/h2>\n

Pielisen Betoni is a traditional family business
\n<\/strong>The story of Pielisen Betoni begins over five decades ago. The company was founded by Esko and Eila Kolehmainen in 1961 when Juuka’s cement foundry started production of ready-mix concrete.<\/p>\n

The business has greatly expanded
\n<\/strong>Pielisen Betoni started operations in Lieksa in 1973 and expanded into an element factory in 1983. In 1988, the production of hollow-core slabs and pre-stressed elements was started in the newly-built Outokumpu factory. The activity continued to expand in 1992 when a ready-mix concrete and wall factory was purchased in Kuopio.\u00a0 The wall factory burned down in 2005, but the ready-mix concrete plant continues to operate at full volume.<\/p>\n

The newest factory is in Joensuu
\n<\/strong>In 2000, Pielisen Betoni founded a new hollow-core and shuttering slab factory in Hollola. It was expanded in 2001 with a frame factory. The company’s latest big investment was in 2008, when a ready-mix concrete plant began operations in Joensuu.<\/p>\n

Today, Pielisen Betoni is one of Finland’s largest concrete companies.
